Sweet Thanksgiving Rumor !

Just before I sit down to a nice Turkey dinner. what pops into my email box ? A nice juicy tidbit of hot stove goodness !
Seems like our boy Theo has been busy. The rumor of the Red Sox aggressively going after Johan Santana has hit the Ol' Dobber radar.
The rumor is like this ..................Coco Crisp and either Buckholtz or Lester plus some throw ins
to the Twins and the Sox would give Santana his requested 126 Million.
Any chances Theo is making a Thanksgiving toast at the Santana house hold ?
Gotta give Lonnie some props here, as he was telling me this for a few weeks ago. Ever since they dropped out of the "Doubleplay" Rod sweepstakes.
Only prospect I would not deal is Elsbury.........................Damn, just thinking about Beckett, Santana, Dice K, Schilling Wakefield makes me drool !

The Lions Roar ! ( Maybe)

I have been married for almost 20 years, and have been a suffering Lions football fan ever since.
My wife Christine's father's cousin Walter Dell was the stats guru for the club for many years. Needless to say, I was given the VIP treatment each time I attended a game. I was fortunate to see Barry Sanders a couple times. A real highlight.
At the start of the 2007 season, QB Jon Kitna guaranteed a 10 win season. He was crushed by the media and sports talk yahoos. They are 6-3 before Thanksgiving. Now who has cranberry sauce on their face ?
For those who think because my Redsox have had recent success, I don't understand the pain of losing. Just look at the Lions dismal record the past decade. And all the blown draft picks etc.
Normally I can only be excited about the Lions until the annual Thanksgiving game. Once the last Madden Turkey Leg Award has been given out, I used to focus on my UVM hockey, Pittsburgh Penguins, and Red Sox hot stove action.
This year I have enjoyed going to work on Mondays. Discussing the previous days games.
My boss is a Giants fan, and my coworkers rout for the Dolphins, Cowboys, Patriots and 49ers.
This coming Sundays matchup between the Lions and Giants ought to be for real bragging rights for the afternoon.
Go Lions !
